Re: "Niger Delta: The Sore of a Nation"

A rapacious ruling elite has reduced the people of the Niger Delta, and indeed 70 percent of the Nigerian population to a life of penury, surviving on less than one dollar a day, in spite of the wealth from oil. Consequently, the Niger Delta remains one of the most underdeveloped, poverty-ridden, and crisis-prone regions of Nigeria.
